Room & BoardMcCullough Construction added a fourth floor to this 1919 Historic property originally built as a showroom and factory for Ford Motors. The work required underpinning and enlargement of all existing footings, structural steel reinforcing of existing columns and beams and a new steel frame to house the fourth level. The façade was renovated with extensive masonry restoration and new “historic windows”. |

PRIVATE RESIDENCE, GEORGETOWN, NW, WASHINGTON, DCMcCullough transformed an existing “cold dark shell” into premier luxury homes with a scenic view of the Potomac River in the heart of Georgetown. Features included limestone floors in entry foyers, marble floors in bathrooms and ¾” Brazilian cherry hard wood floors. The units featured up to five bedrooms, balconies, ten foot high ceilings, “Sub-Zero” and “Viking” appliances and “Poggen Pohl” kitchen cabinetry. Individual condominiums sold from $2 Million to $8 Million. |

Washington Science Center, North Bethesda, MDThis project was a complete renovation of a 120,000 sf office building. The work included demolition, installation of two new egress stairwells to satisfy current life-safety requirements, all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and a new façade comprised of architectural precast concrete and over 36,000 sq of aluminum curtain wall system. The base building construction features a new main lobby finished with granite, stainless steel and millwork, as well as eight new ADA compliant restrooms. |

1722 EYE STREET, NW, WASHINGTON, DCDesignated as a “fast-track” project due to Owner requirements, McCullough achieved completion of this ten-story reconstruction in less than six months. The scope of work included ten floors of demolition (a complete gut down to the concrete frame) and slab cuts and structural steel modifications for a new fire egress stair to comply with current building codes. All new mechanical systems, installation of new stair pressurization shafts, fire protection systems and construction of twenty ADA compliant restrooms were included in the base building renovations. Major upgrades were performed on the electrical and elevator systems. |

The work included all architectural finishes, installation of new mechanical systems, installation of computer room and upgrades to the fire alarm. |

LUXURY HOTEL RENOVATION, 2200 M STREET, NW, WASHINGTON, DCMcCullough Construction performed renovations to 300 guest rooms, one floor at a time, without interruption to hotel operations. The work included selective demolition, reconstruction of the marble showers and bathrooms, and replacement of light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, wall covering, carpet and millwork. |

VETERAN’S AFFAIRS REGIONAL OFFICE, NW, WASHINGTON, DCThis GSA Tenant build-out included 90,000 square feet of improvements that included all architectural finishes. The work featured mechanical, electrical and fire alarm upgrades and the incorporation of a custom computer/server room that included a dedicated fire protection system, independent climate controls and raised access flooring. The existing millwork, stone flooring and etched glass were protected throughout the construction and incorporated into the new finish package. |
