The Mission Building

1625 14th St, NW, Washington, DC

One of McCullough’s historic renovation project delivered 51 new condominiums, as well as retail space, at the site of the previous “Mission Building.” The existing building was completely gutted and restored, while the 3 adjacent historic townhouses underwent façade restoration. Improvements include new wood windows and historic aluminum replacement for the limestone building.

The most interesting and unique aspect of this project is that the new structure is connected to the remaining historic townhouses with a 7 story, cast in place concrete frame, clad with contemporary aluminum windows and a terra cotta rain screen system. The new condos feature very high end modern finishes mixed with historic components of the restored structures.
